CHICAGO, IL.SMG Speakers will serve as the corporate sponsor for the Jameel Harris (J.A.H.) Benefit, a special event that will remember the life of Jameel Harris, a victim of drunk driving. This fundraising benefit will take place on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the historic Sabre Room, located at 8900 West 95th Street in Hickory Hills. It will pay tribute to the many lives taken by drunk drivers, while honoring the life and legacy of the late Jameel Harris—a dynamic music engineer, minister, community leader and mentor. Event proceeds will support music education for future music producers and vocalists; raise awareness of the social ills related to drunk driving; and provide needed resources for victims and families.  The ticket price is only $20.00.

There will be live performances of music, poetry, and hip-hop dance. Some of the talent who will grace the stage include Gospel Recording Artist, Jonathan McReynolds; Poet Extraordinaire, Jason Clark; Pop/Soul/Alternative Singer and Songwriter, Ashleigh Ashton; Poetic Artist, L.A. Holts; Winner of “Refuge Chicago’s” Best Female Vocalist Competition, Tamara Batiest; and Spoken Word Artist, Mikkal Harris.
